This project consists of four townhouses that replaced a small single level bungalow that occupied the site in an industrial neighborhood in West Berkeley. Designed around a parking courtyard the tandem grouped townhouses make efficient use of the 5000 sf lot while all only sharing one wall with another unit. Juliet balconies in the front units provide access to outside while creating privacy using a perforated railing and a thickened facade. The upper level decks in rear units provide views of tree canopies and all that lies beyond.
